How to avoid DDOS attacks with VPN?

DDOS or DOS (denial-of-service) is a computer-based attack that has the purpose of rendering a service or service unavailable, preventing legitimate users of a service from using it. DDOS (Denial of Service Attack) is now one of the oldest Internet threats and continues to be the main risk to networks around the world.

How does the DDOS work?

Before launching an attack, the attacker must first obtain the IP address of the target computer. With the IP address of the target computer, the attacker gets to know a lot of information about this computer and therefore can better plan this attack. (It is therefore advisable to use a VPN service to hide its IP and avoid attack DDOS. If we change our IP, the attacker can not identify us and launch a DDOS attack.)

There are more than 20% of the computers infected by a botnet in the world, they are "zombie PCs". When launching a DDOS, the attacker uses the bandwidth of uploading PCs infected by the botnet (in small quantity so that it goes unnoticed), to send thousands to see millions of requests on the target computer ( Or even a website / game server, etc ...).

Some "zombie PCs" send queries to unsecured DNS servers in order to amplify the attack.

Avoid DDOS attacks with VPN

How to avoid a DDOS attack with VPN?

Since the IP address is important for launching a DDOS attack, we must therefore protect our own IP address. VPN is a simple and effective tool to change our own IP address, which allows video game players to avoid and bypass DDOS attacks.

Compared to dedicated IP VPN, buying shared IP VPN is the best choice to avoid and bypass DDOS. Because the shared IP VPN plan offers more VPN servers available and normally costs no more than dedicated IP VPN.

As for the shared IP VPN provider, I recommend FlyVPN which has 400+ VPN servers in 30+ countries. Here is FlyVPN's servers location list.

How to reduce ping and lag when playing online video games?

The problem of ping and lag usually makes gamers go crazy when playing online video games internationally. In order to get a better gaming experience, we have to fix the ping and play games without lag. Here are some solution to reduce ping that I want to share with.

Solutions to reduce ping and lag when playing video games internationally

1. Simple things
Make sure there are no other programs running in the background. This does not mean that you have to close all processes in the task manager (if you are a good computer and you know what you are doing) but close the open programs, exit programs in the system tray that is not necessary.

2. Restart the modem and / or router
Just unplug it for 5 seconds, and then reconnect it.

3. Install a proxy. (I recommend "ProxyVPN")
Change your Internet line to one with less delay, this also allows to play the server of another country / continent with a low ping, the program will run in the background and gives the game total priority of bandwidth with respect to others Programs through the "specific traffic via" function. You may try FlyVPN's service.

4. Disconnect the wifi from other devices
There is a high probability that other devices are stealing the bandwidth intended for your game, even if they are not doing anything.

It's fine for me when my roommate uses the Wi-Fi, there's no problem, but when my phone, tablet, and Chromecast are connected at the same time, there's a higher lag (even when not in use).

5. Change your DNS server to speed up Internet access in general.
Use this Google program to find the best DNS server for your place / bandwidth: https://code.google.com/p/namebench/

6. Download a GameBooster (not recommended)
Temporarily detains the process and services that are not needed, preferably.

7. Download graphics configuration in the game
Can or can not help with ping, but improves FPS

8. Switch to a more stable connection
Use an Ethernet cable instead of wifi, which makes your connection much more durable and fast. Switch to wifi setup

9. Reset the modem
Eye Resets the ALL-IN-ONE wifi key. It is done through a small hole in the back of your modem and put you with a small thing in it like chopsticks or needle (funny, I know) and hold it until your modem starts to blink the lights lasts as 10 seconds, each modem is Different so the traditional way does not work for you. These next two solutions should only be followed for desperate situations, and if no other solution has helped

Video game fans are eager to play video games globally. Although many video games are only available in certain countries or regions, there does exist a method to access and play video games which are not available in your country or region. Normally, a VPN service is enough to unblock and play video games globally. In this article, we'll explain why VPN service helps to bypass video games' geographic restrictions and how to how to use a VPN service on different operating systems.
VPN for online gaming to bypass geographic restrictions

Why VPN service helps to bypass video games' geographic restrictions?

As we all know, many video games are only available in certain countries or regions. Japanese and Korean video games are usually only open to gamers in their own country. Even for international video games, servers in different countries usually provide different content.

In order to unblock and play video games wherever you are, it is important to know how video games know your actual location. In fact, video games filter its users by their IP address. So the best way to bypass a video game's geographic restriction, is to use a VPN service to get an IP address in a country where this video game is available and accessible.

For example, if we want to access and play an online video game which is only accessible in Japan while we are in South Korea, we should connect to a VPN server in Japan to hide our original South Korea IP and to get a Japan IP.

How to use VPN on different operating systems to unblock and play video games globally?

We should firstly find a stable and reliable VPN service supplier for video gaming on different operating systems. According to my experience, FlyVPN is a good choice for global video gaming on different operating systems. FlyVPN can be used on many operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS, Xbox and PlayStation, and FlyVPN has VPN servers in many countries including USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China and many European countries...You can check its VPN server list by clicking the link given.
